Week 38 Updates

As of yesterday, I have now past the 38 week mark. When we had our first prenatal they told us that our due date is give or take two weeks, so we are now in that range, which means the baby could be here any day. Though most signs point to the fact that baby will be here later, rather than sooner. The bambino must take after its mother, and be preparing for a fashionably late arrival.

I had another OB appointment today and there has been no change since last week, still no dilation and the baby hasn't dropped. In fact the baby was so high the OB did a quick ultrasound just to verify that the baby is in fact head down. Thankfully the baby is head down! At least that much is heading in the right direction.

The bump has become increasingly more basketball shaped and I was accused by my uncle that I am taking this March Madness thing a little too seriously.
Tonight we had our last prenatal visit with our doula, Carrie. We had three visits with her in total, covering everything from laboring positions to birth plans and post postpartum care. It's a little crazy to think that the next time I we see her will be when I am in labor! Every day I am getting a little more anxious to meet our bambino. And the nesting instincts have definitely started to kick in more and more, as I spent hours last night working on organizing the baby's room.

Tomorrow I go back for more acupuncture...more updates to come...
