Well, I'm officially considered full term. Like many things in life, it has gone quickly in some ways and dragged on in others. I have to say there are still some mornings that I wake up, and wonder, am I really pregnant? And then I try to move, and am undeniably reminded of this large belly I have been hauling around. And then there are the sweet moments like tonight when I gently tickle back the bambino's toes as the push against my side.
Yesterday I taught my last yoga class for the time being at Sellwood Yoga and I am enjoying the process of starting to narrow my focus and prepare the task at hand. In preparation for my yoga class, I was listening to one of my favorite yoga podcasts, Transparent Yoga, hosted by Molly Lannon Kenny, and she shared a quote from one of her grad school professors that resonated with me, she said, "practice in the straight away, what you'll use in the curves." So, as I soak up these last few weeks of relative calm before entering motherhood, I am reminded to practice, practice, practice, so when those challenging times arise, I am prepared with the tools necessary to respond in a way that I want to, rather than merely reacting. Sounds good in theory, right?
