Well, we have passed the point of no news is good news. We want some news now!! We, along with our relatives, friends, and co-workers are waiting with as much anticipation as ever. I had my OB check up today. No dilation, but my cervix is soften. I have
one more acupuncture appointment this week and then I'm planning to
step it up a notch with 3 appointments next week. My OB's plan is to
start induction methods around 41 weeks (which would be 4/10/12), and I'm really hoping to avoid
that. At this point I welcome all the unsolicited advice I might have
tried to avoid before, in hopes of getting labor going on its own. So
bring it on!
I have also developed a new sympathy for anyone who feels as though they stand out as "different" in public, because I now feel like a freak of nature where ever I go. And because of my extremely and visibly pregnant physic, it invites comments and questions of all sorts. Everything from the typical, "when are you due?" and "is it a boy or a girl?", to tips to induce labor and random women's vivid accounts of their own labor. While I'm a sucker for labor and delivery stories, it seems like the closer I get to my due date, the more details about L&D are shared, yikes! I have yet to her two stories that are alike.
Thankfully this is my last full week of work. I'm officially released for medical leave as of 4/3/12 (my due date)!! I thought I would work until I was actually in labor, but I'm happy to welcome a little bit of down time for I actually go into labor. As of this past Sunday, I said to Jon, "ok, I'm comfortable now." It's time for us to welcome this little bambino into the world. We are ready for ya!

| 39 weeks down, 1 more to go! |

Oh the final weeks are so hard! Funny how you feel overdue before the due date! I'm sure you've heard most of the old wives tales for natural labor induction. These two may have worked for me (my water broke about 12 hours later!)

I think acupuncture also helped me. Good luck!!
Nice! thanks Julia! I will definitely give them a try. Its true, I totally feel like I'm over due, even though I technically still have 5 more days to go.
