The things Henry says

In order to savor these last couple weeks of Henry being our only, I thought I should try to document some of the really silly things he says. For example the other night we were eating dinner and I said, "Henry try a bite of your sausage." He normally loves sausage. But that night he decided to say, "No, that's dog poop!" I tried my best not to laugh, knowing that he may start calling everything dog poop, but I couldn't contain myself, it was just too ridiculous.

He has also become quite attached to his favorite stuffed animals, Jelly Cat and Big Bear. The other night he woke up, partially because of the crazy thunderstorm, and when I came in to put him back to bed, he was quite distraught and said, "I lost my Jelly Cat." Fortunately it was just on the other side of his bed, and once it was located he comfortably went back to sleep.

He has also been so sweet about my belly/the baby. He loves to rub and hug my belly saying, "hi baby!" or "Baby wake up!" We have been trying to prep him for the birth and what will happen when I go into labor. I have told him about how Mama and Dada will go to the hospital to get the baby out of Mama's belly and how he will go to Nana's house to spend the night. Now when we talk about it he likes to tell me how I will go to the hospital so they can "cut the baby out" and he will "go to nana's house and cry". I'm hoping that's not the case, but I'm not sure its worth trying to clarify.

He still loves to sing, whether it is Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star or Rock-a-by-Baby to the baby or his favorite is to take his microphone and sing "Let it Go" from Frozen. His version of the lyrics go something like this, "Let it go, let it go, turn around and slam the door". Pretty close. We will definitely be signing up for Music Together classes again in the fall.

The other day, Henry was sitting on my lap and he noticed a little skin tag that I have on my neck. He said, "Mama, that's a rock on your neck. Take it off!" If only it was that easy, dear.

As we got ready for Frankie and Rachel's sunrise wedding the other morning, Henry was whining about his dress clothes. We reassured him that we thought he looked really nice. He replied, "yea, Henry looks pretty." Indeed he did.
