Paternity leave

Well, Jon's largest chunk of time off has come and gone. He still has several days in the upcoming weeks that he is taking off to ease my transition into full time motherhood of two, thank goodness!

Words cannot express how lovely it was to have him home in the early days. He was by Henry's side, pretty much 24/7, which allowed me to take it easy and slow down to Leo's newborn pace. It would be amazing if we lived in a country that was more supportive of family leave, but regardless, I'm grateful for the time we had together. Unfortunately we do not have unlimited funds and can't afford for Jon to take any unpaid time off. However, I'm hopeful for the future that other new mothers will not have to make the same sacrifices and difficult decisions between work and motherhood (or fatherhood for that matter) in the future.

Here are just a few of my favorites from our time off together.
