Vacation Recap | Part II: Southern Oregon

We kicked off he 4th of July weekend with Jon running the Sauvie Island Flat 1/2 Marathon. He'd set a goal to run it this year and plans to run a full marathon next year. 'Atta boy Jon!

Then we jumped in the car and headed south to meet our friends Josh + Lori and their little girl Rya at Farewell Bend Campground in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, just at the base of Crater Lake. It was the perfect site, complete with a little beach front to play along the river. Henry was in heaven! We just embraced the dirt and let Henry crawl all over. It was the only way to do it. From there it was super easy to explore Crater Lake, Natural Bridge and all the gorgeous scenery.

After roughing it for two nights, we headed to Jacksonville to see Michael Franti's kid's matinee concert at the Britt Festival. We were hosted by our lovely friends Sarah + Ali and their sweet baby Ita.

Overall, the long holiday weekend was a huge success. We feel so lucky to live in this beautiful state where you don't have to go too far to find such spectacular nature and good people.
