Hard to believe our sweet little boy is 8 months old already! I feel like I say that every month, but its true, every month I'm amazed how the time has zipped past us and how quickly things change. November saw the end of one job for me and the beginning of new one. I have to say, I was incredibly nervous about going back to work full time, but my new work place is super family friendly and accommodating, which has made the transition so much easier. Also, I'll be starting a 4-10's schedule in January, which will allow me to have Mondays off again with Henry! Yay!
Enough about me though, here is the important stuff...what Henry has been up to this past month.
- Henry is almost officially crawling. He can do this sort of disorganized down dog, hands forward and the collapse forward. I'm amazed how this method seems to get him where he needs to go. Though, sometimes it leaves him a little frustrated (as evidenced by the picture below)...

- Henry's bottom two teeth are officially in, while this has made nursing more challenging at times, it has opened the door to more foods!
- We've started just feeding little bits of whatever we're eating in addition to his regular baby food, including broccoli, bread, pizza crust, mum-mums, sweet potato puffs and he has even had some whip cream, thanks to his nana
- He claps, plays patty-cake and high fives
- He is talking all the time and telling lots of stories, sometimes it sounds like he is yodeling, as he says "lolly, lolly, lolly!", but he also loves to talk about his "doggie, doggie, doggie" and "dadda, dadda, dadda". Occasionally, we get a "MaMaaaa!", but usually only if something is going wrong.
- He is officially in a nanny share with his little friend Francie, and while it hasn't been the easiest transition for Henry, I relish the stories of Francie and Henry playing footsy while they sip from their bottles. So cute!
- Henry has warmed his way into his bed. Especially with being back to work full time, even if it means a little less sleep for me, I can't give up those night time snuggles.
Every day it seems like he is growing and changing so fast. He is watching and absorbing everything, like the other night when his 11 month old friend Arthur came over and Henry saw him walk, while he starred, opened mouthed, as if to say, "Hey, I how did he do that? And when can I do that?"
Jon and I have been a little more enthusiastic about the holidays as well...its just a little different when we have this precious guy to share it with. Much more to come about that.
