30

When I was 26, I was just starting grad school and I remember clearly telling my friend in somewhat of a panic that by the time I was 30 I needed to finish grad school, get married, start my career and have at least one baby. I remember feeling completely overwhelmed by all I needed to accomplish before the dreaded 30 arrived. Call it a quarter-life-crisis, or perhaps just ambitious goal setting, but I'll tell you what, crisis averted. As 30 neared, it didn't seem quite so scary. And now that its here, I'm looking forward to what may be the best decade yet.

The start of this new decade certainly got off on the right foot as we headed up to my aunt & uncle's cabin in the Hood Canal area to unplug and relax. Here is what my perfect birthday weekend looked like.

morning coffee with nutella crepes...mmm..mmm..mmm...
We ventured around the forest on a hike

we soaked up all the sweetness and squishiness that is Henry
Henry flew around
Henry worked out a little
We stayed up late (just the two of us & Isla's paw)
We had egg's bene...mmm...mmm...mm....
We did yoga on the beach
Henry did his best impersonation of Simba
We smooched
We had naked time
We did some more yoga on the porch
We made it back to town in time for a fabulous Saturday night shindig with friends. Turns out 30 is pretty great.

In other news....
Henry is now eating solids!

and some tootsies for dessert
