Leo @ 21 months

Leo is now 21 months old...and well on his way to being a 2 year old. He is a busy boy, but still finds time to be my "lovebug". He still nurses and loves to cuddle. He loves his big brother and older cousins and desperately is trying to be able to play with them, even if it means putting himself in harms way. We are so lucky to have in our family and we've loved seeing his relationship with Henry evolve.

Here are the bullet points for Leo at 21 months:

  • Still nurses like a champ, mostly around bedtime or naptime when I'm home, not super into bottles (unlike his brother)
  • He will sleep through the night in his own bed occasionally, but most often wakes up sometime around 2am or 3am and spends the rest of the night in our bed.
  • With spring and summer upon us and more shorts wearing and getting his fair share of skinned knees
  • Has been handling his transition to school really well. He is always sad when we leave, but his teacher's say he's super cheerful shortly afterwards. He loves all his new friends and we have gotten to know them on several occasions when he will go up and act super friendly to a little one about his size and start waving or touching him at the park. Every time he has done this, I have been surprised and every time it has been one of his friends from his classroom. I love that he connected to quickly with so many peers.
  • He loves to imitate his brother and try to play the way he plays. He's started fighting back a little with little "hits"
  • He cries if brother hits him or yells at him
  • He loves babies...its still one of the most regular signs he'll do
  • His language is exploding and even if we don't understand them, he speaks his regular sentences. Some of his favorite words: dawgie, dada, mama, broodd (brother), broodie, kai, tak que (thank you), teeese (please), wawer (water), bawl (ball), tookie (cookie), car, fower (flower). The latest one is when we blow a kiss and he catches it he grabs in the air and says "caughtit"
  • He continues to be a good eater. Refried beans are still his favorites
    loves shoes
watching brother play soccer in the rain
    bath time swimming
    easter egg hunting
    kennedy school soaking pool
    shoes are important

snuggles with Soren at In n Out in Palm Desert

    brother snuggles
    at Henry's soccer game
not so sure about the roller coaster ride at the Cinco de Mayo festival
    new haircut
snuggles with grandma in Port Townsend
finding a comfy seat at cousin Mikey and Carla's wedding at McMenamin's Grand Lodge

  1. My favorite picture is the way Leo is looking at his big brother in their bathing suits at Kennedy school!!! Pure admiration and "I get to do what you are doing" look! Love it!
