Maui time

We've arrived safely in Maui. The flight over was not as bad as bad as I would've expected with an almost 2 year old. We brought a few new toys and the real life saver was the free extra seat so Henry had his own space. We managed to keep him in his seat until about the last hour of the 6 hour flight. By the time we landed in Honolulu, Henry was nearly at the end of his rope. Blame it on the long flight, the time change or maybe the humidity, but he was just done. Fortunately he took a little snooze on the car ride to Jon's family compound.
We actually ended up with 3 seats together. It was awesome.
New toys.

We had a great evening with Jon's family on his grandma's amazing compound just outside of Paia on the north shore.

Waking up to the ocean view and sounds of tropical birds was all we needed to ease the stress of a long day of travel the day before.

Then we spent the morning having a leisurely breakfast and a trip to Mama's beach, which was the perfect introduction for Henry to a warm tropical ocean.
We had some casualities of too much fun  in the sand.
We connected with my parents on Friday and made our way down to our condo in Wailea. We are fully settled in and enjoying life on island time. Henry has especially loved playing with Jon's cousin Karli's little boys.

Morning trip to the beach.
Pool time.
Gorgeous sunset.
Cozy with Matteus.

Just a quick run down of the first few days here, more to come.
