23 months

Henry is well on his way to becoming a 2 year old officially. We have little conversations together. Some of his favorite phrases are "no, mama" (as he wags his finger at me, its actually kind of adorable), "thank you" (we are working on "civilizing our little caveman, a la Harvey Karp's book) and he loves to chant "PT-FC" (showing his Rose City pride).

He continues to be obsessed with basketball. He loves playing himself, but is especially fond of watching his cousins, Soren and Brody play. We took him to see Brody's game the other weekend. Just as we settled into the bleachers, Henry locked eyes with the basketball and bolted straight into the middle of the very serious 7 year olds' game, like he was ready to join the team. It took some serious coaxing to keep him in the stands and not ruining the game. While in the stands, he cheered his cousin on, yelling "Gooo Boudy!!"

We continues to be quite musical and has started singing songs on his own. My favorites are when he sees any bus, he starts singing "round and round, round and round". I'm not sure where he learned it, but he also will randomly start singing "jingle bells", kind of hilarious. Then the sweetest of all is that he loves to sing to the baby, and he and Jon will sing "twinkle twinkle little star" to my belly. I love it.

So this will be my last monthly update for Henry as he enters his 2nd year of life. He is truly such a light in our lives and I feel so grateful every day and moment for him, even when I'm carrying him kicking and screaming from the basketball court in a full on tantrum his failing gives me a bloody lip, yes, even then he is still the best thing that has ever happened to me.
