Winter to Spring

Well, it has been a long winter that is dragging into March, but filled with lots of new changes and developments. Jon accepted a position working for Multnomah County's legal office, providing counsel to the county Library and DCHS. But prior to the big move in January, he took 2 weeks off and enjoyed a tropical vacation in Hawaii with Henry while visiting his grandmother, uncle and cousin and her family. Henry loved playing with his older cousins, Mateo and Gabriel. Meanwhile, Leo and I stayed home and weathered the storm, literally, managing the homestead in record setting snow storm while simultaneously fighting off a nasty virus. Jon and Henry definitely got the better end of deal.

Jon's transition has been pretty smooth into his new job. Henry and Leo are still enjoy their school and Grandma (for both boys)/Nana (for Leo) days. I might be laid off at the end of June, because of the budget for the Health department. They expanded too quickly and had hoped for more new patients in the last year that have not materialized, plus the uncertainty of the ACA and medicaid expansion means they have to downsize. Fortunately, I will be finished with my loan repayment contract by then, hopefully, and will wait it out and take unemployment if necessary.
