Leo is TWO
I know I probably say this every time, but it hard to believe our lion cub, Leo, is already 2 years old. While it seems like it has gone by in a flash, I can barely remember our life without him. He continues to bring so much joy into our lives, with his silly wiggle dance, his excited gallops chasing after his brother or his amazing cuddles. And given his recent hospitalization we are extra grateful to be celebrating his bday this year.
So here is the latest in Leo's life:
Talking more and more. From 3 months ago when he had a couple dozen words, to now being able to string 3-4 words together for a sentence...wow! I never cease to be amazed with language development. Some recent phrases and words we've seen more of: "EE-eo sawd" (Leo sad) when he is crying, "Mama eeat", "Hiney, no", "Dawgie, eeewwh", "Mama see fower", "Cha-cha" (chocolate), "Fa-fa (foxy, his lovie)
He and Henry are playing better together and we have moved them into the same room together
He is sleeping in his toddler bed, converted from his crib and sleeps through the night
His nanny share will end on his birthday and he will start 3-days/week at Growing Seeds and go back to 1 day/week with his Nana
He loves music, dancing, being a daredevil and to climb, jump and run like a wild man, he loves his brother and his cousin, he loves sensory play, and he is a great snuggler
He continues to nurse, mostly in the evenings, mornings and it feels like all weekend long
When he wants to be picked up, he positions himself right in front of me and yells, "mama! mama! mama! cawry..." And then when I pick him up and rests his head on my shoulder or cups my face in his hands and lets out a big sigh and says, "Mamahhh..."
Leo's Stats from 2 year well child: height 2'11" (74%), weight: 30lbs 4oz (76%) and head: 20.5" (99%)
A bite for Leo, a bite for dino
cozy bed on a log at Arcadia State Park
Boots and his favorite pink duckie socks on a weekend in Hood Canal
